Cronache da una città sommersa

On 12 November 2019, an extraordinary high tide, 187 cm, flooded the entire city of Venice. After this exceptional event, the desire is to look ahead and start again, resuming daily activities.
Cronache da una città sommersa (Chronicles from a submerged city) was created by some close friends of the Fallani Venezia silk-screen printing workshop, a historical place in the city for over fifty years, with the desire to support this activity so that it can restart after the damage it has suffered.
The tide damaged some of the machinery and materials that over the years have enabled the works of numerous artists and illustrators who have frequented the print shop to take shape.
The project, started by Lucio Schiavon, Chiara Masiero Sgrinzatto and Andrea Da Villa, involved a group of illustrators, new and old friends of Fallani, asking them to create a artwork related to the city of Venice. Bruno Bozzetto, Ale Giorgini, Riccardo Guasco, Franco Matticchio, Andy Rementer, Jacopo Rosati, Guido Scarabottolo, Lucio Schiavon and Olimpia Zagnoli decided to donate one of their works to the serigraphy so that Gianpaolo could restart the printing activity with new editions and replace damaged materials.
The artwork was printed in a limited edition of 50, numbered and signed by the artists.
