Dario Fo

Dario Fo was born in Sangiano (Varese) in 1926. In his teenage years, following a visit to the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, he chose to enrol to complete his studies. He learnt various artistic techniques, studied set design, but when he had to consider the way forward, he chose not to focus on painting. His talent for storytelling brings him closer to the world of theatre and the meeting with his wife and life companion Franca Rame. The Maestro travelled, wrote and in 1997 received the Nobel Prize. A career dedicated to the world of culture and theatre that seems to have overshadowed what Dario Fo has always been: a painter.
He died in Mialno on 13 October 2016.
