Baùta is the most typical mask of the Venice Carnival.
Behind its simplicity lie ancient secrets, called "Larva" (from the Latin spectre), its shape allows it to be eaten and drunk without taking it off, thus preserving anonymity. This is why it was one of the most beloved masks for Venetian festivals, who knows what mysteries are hidden behind the characters who wear it. The three protagonists keep close together almost forming a single entity, with their long black cloaks peering at us and inviting us to go with them.
