-The fragility of sense-

While words often serve to conceal the truth, it is always through words that we describe and (explain) ourselves. Handling words resembles the experience of getting lost in a playground, while when we try to communicate with someone, we actually share the risk and emotion of feeling lost. Punctuation marks are an attempt to bring order to this turmoil of senses, they give time to understand what happened in the tunnel of horrors, in the fortune teller's tent or on the roller coaster.

All languages, whether spoken or written language, music, dance or theatre, use their own set of 'punctuation marks'. What is the image, in the visual arts, becomes for me the convention of punctuation.

The image, limited in terms of physical space, but unlimited in terms of content, allows me to transform a subjective interpretation, an emotion, a story into colour, form, space, contrast, harmony and gesture. It is therefore up to the observer to find his own interpretations, emotions, stories in each work; to design his own experiences to be enriched with meaning and feeling. mine is a guide, a convection of punctuation.

The figures that populate my drawings are static, sitting on a mat or with their arms resting, accompanied by birds, fish, insects and flowers. They create bridges between reality and the ephemeral, mixing elements from both worlds. Just as, optically, all colours mixed together create white, the connection brought by my characters makes us aware of a paradox: in each of us the need for individualism coexists with the need to belong. We are at the same time social but also solitary animals.

Like a flash that cuts out static scenes in a moving show, I want to give the opportunity to observe and fill every detail with meaning, while enjoying the meaning of the whole. Their being ephemeral, blocked scenes that in the next moment turn into something else. voglio dare l’occasione per osservare e riempire di senso ogni dettaglio, godendo però del significato dell’insieme. Il loro essere effimero, scene bloccate che nell’attimo seguente si trasformano in qualcosa d’altro.
